Slow day at work yesterday - the building seemed to be mostly empty.

I'd brought my photos along to show Joyce, but between her being sick and spending the day at the doctor, I never saw her.

I spent some time testing my next fix, and getting it ready for inspection next week. Toward the end of the day I started working on the next "emergency" fix. It appears that servers with "large" amounts of memory are experiencing a large number of single-bit errors that eventually turn into multi-bit error (which usually turn into system stops). I'm supposed to recreate a modern version of something we used to do for a similar problem in the past. The word is that the problem affects a large number of vendors besides us; it seems to currently have a low profile.

Hooked up with Laura and Rachael at 6:00pm at Lake Harriet. Shortly after we started walking, Karen came by on her bicycle. She alighted from the bicycle, and joined us on the walk. It was a very pleasant walk. Despite the weather, it was very comfortable under the shade by the lake. Karen pointed out the Elf's house to us newbies. Really nice company. I left Laura and Rachael around 7:30, they were staying to listen to the music.

I got home between 8:30 and 9:00. No one was there but the cats (they were glad to see the man who fills the food dishes). Polonia arrived home around 10:00, apparently she put in a twelve hour day at work.

No plans for today beyond a birthday party at an unknown location and an unknown time.

I'm thinking that tomorrow I'd like to go to the Lagoon for a matinee showing of one of the movies currently playing - probably The Piano Teacher (although the reviews make it sound too intense).

I've emailed you updates on the birthday party. Could you pass then to Don? (I don't have his address here.) The party won't start until 9pm or so, I don't think.

I hope you left the phtotos at work so I can see them next week!

Meanwhile my work problems are sitting around doing nothing, but I'm healthier.

See you later.

As best I can tell, there are at least two parties happening as we speak (almost). One of them is at O'Donovan's, band is "Tramps and Hawkers", party probably starts around 8:30, and is celebrating Laurel's 31st year among us.
The other one is at the Rad South, and is celebrating the birthday of the elder dragon (Erin Lorenz). Starts soon, from what I understand.

The movie plan is just not going to happen. Probably just as well.
