May. 28th, 2002 12:18 pmThe last time I tried to do a journal entry, the electrons vanished, never to be seen again.
This version will be considerably briefer than the previous one that disappeared.
Friday night, spent time with
laurafish and
lsanderson SMOFfing and doing planning for ConJose trip. Had great time, came home totally saturated with cigarette smoke. Left clothes on deck (jacket is still on deck, airing out), took shower, and eventually went to bed Saturday morning. I'm beginning to twig to the fact that someone is a bad influence on my sleeping habits.
Saturday was a quiet day. Spent the day reading newspapers from previous days/weeks, and doing laundry.
Spent some time on Sunday following through on ConJose plans (I had at least one action item, which I took care of. Still trying to remember any other action items I might have had). I had originally planned on not getting a Sunday NY Times.
lsanderson posted that Times had article quoting Bruce Schneier - so much for plans. After working out, came home to find Polonia watching HBO special on 9/11. Felt compelled to watch - some very disturbing footage in the special. Afterward, Polonia decided that I needed to watch a funny movie, so she ordered Bandits from the cable company. I'm glad we only spent $3.99 to watch it at home rather than what it would have cost to have seen it at a theater. I didn't find the movie very funny at all. The only slightly interesting thing about the movie was the poly aspect, and the movie's handling of that left me not particularly satisfied.
Yesterday, some minor amount of grocery shopping (sandwiched around a nasty fight with Polonia), and finished most of the laundry. We eventually made it to the storage locker, where we did some reorganization. I've identified candidates for the MnStf garage sale - dining room table with 4-6 chairs, papasan chair liberated from Rachael Lininger's last move, and two boxes of books. I imagine more candidates could be identified if I'd go through the garage. I also found the single baby picture I have of me - presumably I should make a copy and pass it along, as requested. Afterward, went to health club to run. Discovered I was too upset to run, so stopped after 7 minutes or so. I didn't really want to go home, so went and saw a movie (Monsters, Inc) instead (rationalizing that it was nominated for a Hugo, so I ought to see it, and with admission costing $2.00, what could it hurt). This turned out to be the funny movie I should have seen rather than Bandits. It was better than I expected, and pretty funny in spots

Date: 2002-05-29 12:16 am (UTC)Indifferent is the term I was trying to think of the other day when I responded to your post. It's when your indifferent to your marriage that they say it's really bad news. My heart sank the first time I heard this because I knew I was, I had checked out a long time ago.
