A week ago I had a wisdom tooth removed. I spent last Wednesday doing nothing, and went back to a more or less normal life (if one overlooks the antibiotics three times a day, and the salt water rinse four times a day). I was supposed to go back for a follow-up today, but there were scheduling issues. So yesterday I rescheduled the follow-up for a week from today. This seemed reasonable; I wasn't experiencing any difficulties at the time I rescheduled the appointment.

Last night, I was eating a handful of raisins, and something went wrong. I'm now getting rather more intense pain on the side of my mouth where the tooth used to be. I'm suspecting that it's not really the removal; the pain is not particularly localized, and it only intensifies when I chew (even if I chew only on the other side of my mouth). Since the pain responds well to Ibuprofen, I'll probably try to tough it out until my rescheduled appointment.

Bleah.

I hate having aging teeth. I got my permanent crown today. It's made of unobtanium and is "as permanent as anything in dentistry". If the ibuprofen stops helping before you run out the clock on the appointment, I have some ideas for you.

If the ibuprofen stops helping before you run out the clock on the appointment...

I'll listen to any ideas, although I still have an unfilled prescription for something stronger than Ibuprofen.
