Well, yeah, but that's what makes it so difficult to figure out which mathematically significant birthday you're celebrating.

True, but that's also part of the fun. Specific numbers stop mattering once you hit 18 (or 21 if you like to drink and stuff).

Then they don't matter anymore until you're in your 60's and start getting discounts for being grumpy.

I never actually had a significant birthday. I turned 18, then the law changed on adult age, and they didn't cancel my legal drinking ability when they changed the law on that in Minnesota.

Hmm; although my memory may be wrong. None of the articles I can find specified when the 26th amendment took effect; if it took effect the day it was ratified, which seems to be what the procedure says ("becomes part of the Constitution), then it was before my 18th birthday.

Ah well; another good story shot to hell.
