Unintended Consequences
Oct. 1st, 2011 02:44 pmI had to make trips to both post offices this morning (one in downtown Minneapolis, the other in Roseville). On my way to the Roseville PO, I discovered that MNDoT had closed off all but one lane (in each direction) of I35W where it crosses the Mississippi.
Interestingly enough, there were no workers visible in any of the sections of freeway that were blocked off from traffic.
What was visible were the large number of highway patrol cars and wreckers servicing the many vehicles that had collided.
Also the traffic backup (southbound I35W was backed up from the south side of the river all the way back beyond Industrial Boulevard (where I exited northbound I35W)).
