I've never done a journal in my life, so what am I doing here?

Last Sunday, lsanderson, laurafish, and I were SMOFfing at a restaurant after the Minicon 37 post-mortem, and somehow the conversation wandered around to the subject of LiveJournal entries, and why I was unable to post commentary on their Live Journal entries. So on Monday, after we've given the government our pound of flesh, I receive an e-mail from lsanderson containing the information I need to create a LiveJournal account. After dithering about for a few days, I use the information, and now I have a LiveJournal account. So it seems only reasonable to use it.

It may do me some good to journal - I've been pretty depressed for a couple of weeks now, and the depression shows no sign of passing. Maybe the counseling session I have scheduled at the end of the month will banish the blues (fat chance), but I should certainly try other things in the meantime.

Yoga on Monday night helped some - I think a small part of the depression is that I've not been able to get back into the habit of exercising regularly - but it was only a temporary lull in my misery.

Tuesday was pretty good - Sue Mason agreed to be the Minicon 38 Fan Guest of Honor, and I was inordinately pleased about that.

But the rest of the week dragged along. I can't focus at work, so I make lots of stupid mistakes. Unfortunately, one of my stupid mistakes got integrated, and blew up at 1530 on Friday afternoon (why is it that most work disasters hit just before quitting time on Friday?) - I'll have to figure out what's broken on Monday, and fix it ASAP.

There's a MnStf meeting on Saturday, which I'm pretty sure I won't be going to - I need a weekend away from MnStf and Minicon.

And next weekend I'm off to Manzanar, and a rare chance to socialize with my wife's relations. They're nice, but I anticipate being miserable - our past history shows that we usually do not travel well together.

One of the many things we don't do well together
