I continue to think that I'll make better progress by exercising to muscle failure (i.e., week 3 day 1) than by redoing a week that I already know I can do.
I continue to make progress. Slow progress, but progress.
I predict that my results on Thursday will likely be something like 15, 12, 11, 9, (7).
As long as I make progress, I'll continue to plug away at it. I'm not surprised that my progress is slow - pushups have always been a weak area for me. And I'm at an age where I'm supposedly losing muscle mass, so adding muscle mass/strength seems like it would be a slower process than envisioned by the creator of the challenge. Although I have to say I don't really think the jump between weeks two and three is realistic - a 40% increase between the total pushups called for between week 2 day 3 and week 3 day 1 seems overly optimistic.
