It Was A Good Weekend To Be Out Of Town
Jul. 14th, 2008 01:51 pmThey had I-35W closed down, again, this weekend.
In addition, the Triathlon made travel across the parkway virtually impossible from 0800 to 1300.
So, I delayed my errand to
drewan and
rvrjoe775 until after 1500. Well after 1500.
It took me between 45 minutes and an hour to travel from 32nd Street and Portland Ave to Columbus and 70-something in Richfield.
I've decided that it's a dry run for the conspiracy to ensure minimal disruption for the Rethuglican Convention (by bottling up potential protesters inside South Minneapolis where they won't be seen).
Meh.

Date: 2008-07-14 07:19 pm (UTC)Then that weekend when I can't head *west* (sometimes called the "Uptown Art Fair" or some such) is coming up. With so much of Lake St. torn up and the 35W situation, that should be a *great* weekend to spend at my computer.

Date: 2008-07-14 07:27 pm (UTC)Judging from my short experiment with swimming in Lake Calhoun in the prodigious wind, most of those annoying Triathloners probably drowned, if that's any consolation.
