What's Going On
Apr. 20th, 2008 10:09 pmIn the category of Are you feeling lucky?, it appears that Sly and the Family Stone will be playing at First Avenue on Friday, May 2. I am precluded from rolling the dice on this one as we should be in Santa Monica by then.
The Enemy Within - Terror in America 1776 to today continues at the Minnesota History Center.
Arts of Japan: The John C. Weber Collection continues at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
Spiritual America continues at the Walker Art Center.
The weekend brings another incarnation of the St. Paul Art Crawl. It's in St Paul (natch!) from 6-10pm Friday, 2-10pm Saturday, and noon-5pm on Sunday. The one's I've made it to in the past were a blast - well worth crossing the river for.
Lois Bujold will be answering questions and signing autographs at Dreamhaven on Tueday at 1830 in conjunction with the publication of The Sharing Knife Volume 3: Passage.
Steve Johnson will be doing something (reading? signing?)at 1900 at the Barnes and Noble in the Har-Mar Mall for the book Chicago Cubs, Yesterday and Today.
Celeste Shally and David Harrington: Since We're Friends: An Autism Picture Book, 10am Saturday, Maple Grove Barnes & Noble.
Northern Woods Exhibition: Minnesota Woodworkers Guild presents submissions from some of the finest woodworking artists and furniture makers in the country. 10am-9pm Thursday-Saturday, 11am-6pm Sunday. Free at Southdale Center.
The Kids in the Hall: Live As We'll Ever Be, 7pm Saturday, $37.50-$49.50, Orpheum Theatre.
Margaret Cho, 8pm Friday, $28.50-$45.50, Orpheum Theatre.
ETA I'm also told that there is the Minneapolis-St. Paul Home Tour. Saturday April 26 10am-5pm and Sunday April 27 1-5pm.
