Metaphorically, Larry said "Duck", and I stood up and said "Where?"

I'm a delegate.

Apparently I don't look like a delegate, though - the organizers for Franken and Nelson-Pallmeyer (sp?) were buttonholing all the other delegates as they tried to leave the building - I didn't rate a second glance.

The precinct went heavily for Obama - 705 to 183.

I'm disheartened to find that many ostensible progressives still let fear rule their actions (in reference to the silliness after the straw poll).

What silliness? Did I miss something?

Gosh, I forget the exact terms. Basically, after the real work is done in the caucus, various people propose resolutions that they want approved and sent up the line (where they'll likely be bundled together and eviscerated). I believe [livejournal.com profile] lsanderson usually offers a resolution to the effect of the caucus should blanket approve all resolutions that caucus attendees bother to write up and submit, send them up the line to be bundled and eviscerated, and adjourn to the bar earlier than the usual procedure would allow.

While the resolutions at this caucus weren't as silly as some that were submitted at the last caucus, most were really not particularly useful additions to the platform of a political party.

In the instance I'm referring to, it was clear that a number of progressives in the audience were perfectly happy to sacrifice the rights of others because they were afraid of the others. My take is this is the same kind of fear that leads to relinquishing one's civil liberties because of fear of the terrorists.

YMMV.

Ugh. Right, I remember that silliness, but it was far-left silliness at the caucus I attended last. Yours sounds really annoying.

Silliness? Local precinct silliness, or more widespread. Do tell.

What's your senate district? I think mine is 60B. Maybe I'll see you there - we don't live all that far from each other.

Local precinct silliness.

I have no idea what district I'm in. And the map the DFL gave to [livejournal.com profile] lsanderson was no help in that regard, being largely illegible.
