Some People Never Learn
Feb. 5th, 2008 09:38 pmMetaphorically, Larry said "Duck", and I stood up and said "Where?"
I'm a delegate.
Apparently I don't look like a delegate, though - the organizers for Franken and Nelson-Pallmeyer (sp?) were buttonholing all the other delegates as they tried to leave the building - I didn't rate a second glance.
The precinct went heavily for Obama - 705 to 183.
I'm disheartened to find that many ostensible progressives still let fear rule their actions (in reference to the silliness after the straw poll).

Date: 2008-02-06 04:44 am (UTC)While the resolutions at this caucus weren't as silly as some that were submitted at the last caucus, most were really not particularly useful additions to the platform of a political party.
In the instance I'm referring to, it was clear that a number of progressives in the audience were perfectly happy to sacrifice the rights of others because they were afraid of the others. My take is this is the same kind of fear that leads to relinquishing one's civil liberties because of fear of the terrorists.
YMMV.
