Tickets for Bruce Springsteen's September 30 concert in St Paul went on sale Saturday morning at 10:00 am.

laurafish had advised that getting tickets through the Ticketmaster outlet in my local Rainbow Foods store would probably involve shorter lines than other alternatives. So I decided to try getting tickets to the concert.
I didn't get near enough sleep Friday night, but I was still up and ready to be at the store at 6:00 am. It was clearly too early. So I went home, and came back around 8:00 am. Still too early, although I did find out that lottery numbers would be handed out at 9:30am. So I got breakfast at a fast food joint, and walked across Yankee Doodle to the Caribou Coffee in Byerlys and got an extra large mocha. And by the time I'd walked back, there was a short line outside the store for lottery tickets. So I got in line, not too far from the front, shortly before 9:00 am. They handed out the lottery numbers at 9:45, and pulled the number to see who would be first in line to buy. It was someone toward the end of the line. And we went inside, lined up at the counter in order. Ticket sales started at 10:00 am. I had six tickets by 10:15. They're not the best tickets I've gotten for a Springsteen concert, but they're certainly not the worst. They're beside the stage, up pretty high. Section 221, Row 5, seats 5 through 10. With fees and taxes, the tickets cost $83.19 each. I'm keeping two for myself,

The experience was rather more relaxed than past efforts to acquire tickets. I probably would have done better to stay in bed later.
