If lower taxes were the key to economic prosperity, wouldn't it have worked by now? Teachers, nurses, social workers...this is who needs to sacrifice more while the wealthy pay historically low rates (lower than Reagan had them paying)? It's gutless to cut the safety net without asking those at the top to give up that extra yacht so that 30 other children could get lunch in school.

I went out a couple of hours ago, and shoveled off the walks - the idea being that I'd have less to shovel when it finally stopped snowing. Also, it seemed like a good time to remove the pedestrian-packed snow, under the theory that no sane pedestrian would be out after dark in the cold and snow.
