So it's late Sunday night, and I'm trying to remember what I did this weekend.

Friday seems so long ago. I know I got a birthday cake and a card for Laurel on her birthday. And I delivered them to the Minneapolis in '73 party at Convergence. And there was dinner with [livejournal.com profile] lsanderson and [livejournal.com profile] laurafish at Chez Collette. And then we went back to the party. I have a vague recollection of being chased down the hall until I let my pursuer capture me. And shortly thereafter I bought a Convergence membership, and gave up on ghosting the convention. I spent a lot of time sitting and drinking and talking with friends, and I made it home at 5:00 am on Saturday. And so to bed.

And four hours later I was up. I felt pretty crappy - there's a reason I normally don't consume much alcohol. But I did laundry, and dishes, and went to the grocery store to buy items from the grocery list I'd been given a few hours prior. And I made it back to the convention around 6:30pm. Just in time to stroll up to the line to get into the masquerade, where Joe and Andrew and Rachael and Laura and Larry were holding a spot for me. I don't really appreciate masquerades, but this was ok. The entry parodying Attack of the Clones was a hoot, and the Night Hunt entry brought tears to my eyes. The "halftime entertainment" was a real hoot, and justified the expenditure of time. And then it was back to the party, and putting the grapes I'd bought into a basket, and following Laura and Rachael and Larry around while they attempted to recruit Elf Boys for Minicon 38 (Specifically, for our Fan Guest of Honour, Sue Mason. Although I retain this dark suspicion that the auditioners/procurers may retain a few Elf Boys for their own personal use). At some point during the evening, Andrew took the entire group up to the hotel floor reserved by/for the BDSM crowd. I saw things I'd never seen (other than on film) before, and confirmed my suspicion that the more extreme practices I saw really didn't do anything for me.

Eventually, Larry went home, and the remaining hunters of Elf Boys were reduced to sitting around drinking, and talking, and drinking, and drinking, and ...

At some point, Peter Hentges joined the group. Andrew and a bunch of his friends wandered by, and talked for a while, and went home. Peter and Rachael and Laura and I kept on until daylight (I think. My memory is a little hazy, for some unfathomable reason). I arrived home after 6:00 am, and went to bed.

I spent the day dealing with my upset stomach and with a case of terminal exhaustion. I did successfully get the excess soda pop out of the car, and now I just have to figure out what to do with all the cans I have of stuff I won't drink. I'm sure I'll figure something out.

If I had stuck to my original plan of only showing up for the Laurel's birthday part of the room party, I probably wouldn't have registered. But I'd have been scrupulously honest about not using any convention facilities. In retrospect, I'm glad I registered. Even though, for the most part, I didn't use much in the way of convention facilities.

Talking about addled states, I don't remember offering you a grape. But I must have, if you remembered it. I was relieved of grape peeling/offering duties pretty quickly.

And thanks for the compliment (*blush*)
