...There's something wrong with a list that purports to name the 50 most significant SF books from the period 1953-2002 that does not list a single book by Lois Bujold. I'd choose Memory, but there are a number of her other books that would qualify, as well. At least in my opinion.

I'd agree. Memory is certainly a first-rate book, and Lois is quite "significant" overall, too.

Also Vernor Vinge! A Fire Upon the Deep and A Deepness in the Sky both fit within the time limits.

Memory is very good, even if it does have a position invented for Miles in it. But when making my list I put on the first two collected as Cordelia's Honor.
