Sometime before Sunday at 2PM I need to create ~2500 postcards, and have the postcards and the stamps chez Sanderson so they can be joined together and sent out into the cold, cruel world.

Yesterday, I finally realized that it might be a good idea to get the necessary stamps before Sunday. So when I went out for lunch, I made a quick stop at the nearest Post Office. I got to the counter, and told the clerk I needed roughly 2350 $0.21 stamps.

To her credit, she didn't fall on the floor laughing. She told me that they didn't have that many twenty-one cent stamps there, and with the impending rate change it was unlikely that any Post Office in the area would have that many twenty-one cent stamps (apparently, all of the Post Offices are keeping very tight control of their stamp inventory in these last few weeks in June). But she went off into the back to see what she could see. After a while, she came out at the other end of the counter and waved me over. After much calling around, they had found a Post Office with a sufficient quantity of the stamps desired. They gave my name to the person on the other end of the line, and gave me really good directions to the Post Office with the stamps, and off I went. Where I got the stamps.

I often hear people complaining about the Post Office. My experience seems to be different from that of the complainers - I usually get good service from polite, customer-oriented clerks. Which I certainly got yesterday.

And now that I have stamps, I just need to get paper and turn it into postcards. Real Soon Now.

Now that you mention it, I do recall that Dean has a real pressshop guillotine.

Just remember to use light card stock instead of regular paper. You will probably also find pre-perf stock for laser printing postcards in the office supply store, though that seems needless in this situation.
