Jun. 19th, 2002 06:13 pmAfter Tuesday's meeting, I split my time between half-heartedly putting things away, and starting to look at work-related problems that were put on hold when I started panicking about the move.
I'd originally planned to go to the health club after work and work out. But then
laurafish and
lsanderson e-mailed me a reminder about the reading at Dreamhaven.
Lyda Morehouse's reading made me want to purchase her books. The selections she read were witty and erudite, and I'm sure I'm going to spend some money on her books Real Soon Now. It would have happened yesterday, but I spent all the money I didn't have on the Tarot deck that Bruce Pelz put together.
We went to It's Greek To Me after for drink and food. It was a little bizarre following Lyda's reading from a book featuring religious characters (Morningstar aka Lucifer, and the Archangel Gabriel) and religious themes, with the overheard conversation from the two gentlemen seated next to us in the restaurant. I believe I provided my dinner companions with a fair amount of cheap entertainment, as they watched my facial expressions and my struggles to contain myself.
It was different.
I enjoyed the reading, and the company, and the unintended entertainment.
