davidschrothAnother hard-starter of a day. Got a late start, didn't make it to work until sometime after 10, still struggling with the current problem.
And then Lee Hansen tells me Charlie Wilson died this morning.
Abdominal aneurysm burst, and I guess he bled to death. And I sleepwalk through the rest of the day.
Charlie took early retirement on December 31. If I adopt a totally self-centered viewpoint, he'd had enough fun giving me shit and decided to hang it up and enjoy life.
A more reasonable view would be that he'd had enough blows, and it was time to leave the field of play. I think he'd had great joy with his relationship with Sue Eardley. And then Sue was murdered, and he was left with bitterness towards her murderer. His health went South. He recovered, he retired, and now, less than four months into retirement, he's dead.
I didn't know Charlie anywhere near well enough, but he certainly deserved better.
