We've talked about our both living in So. Cal., but I don't think you ever mentioned the "just east of LAX" before. From Sept. of 1969 till Jan. of 1971 I lived in an apartment just east of LAX--about a mile, maybe less, from the east end of the north runway (where all the 747s, new while I lived there, landed). I think it was officially Inglewood, but the address was always given as LA, and I forget the address but I'm pretty sure it was a numbered street.

I checked on Mapquest - I lived one block east of Airport Boulevard (the semi-major street between Sepulveda and Aviation). I always regarded Inglewood as being on the east side of the 405, but I'm not sure that my regard necessarily matched reality.
