When we went to Rockin' the Cradle at MIA, we happened to see the Okee-Dokee Brothers play a couple of songs. Some weeks later I picked up a copy of their CD, Can You Canoe, thinking it would be a nice change from the CDs that A has in heavy rotation in the car.

Wow.

This is a great CD, and these guys are good. Their lyrics range from extremely silly to extremely literate.

Now I want to hear friends doing their take on some of these songs (It might be a lot of fun to hear Along For the Ride paired with The Girl Who Never Was).

Complete with a Grammy for best Children's Album of the Year.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm currently letting YouTube entertain me. I like the rhymes in "Campin' Tent" and am all over "Roll On River."

Given some of the past Grammy winners, I don't usually take winning a Grammy as necessarily an indicator of quality.

They certainly deserve the Grammy, although I think this is so much more than a Children's album. Much like the best o YA works are some much more than works for Young Adults.
