Vista's Spirit Set With the Moon Tonight

That was the first line of Polonia's response to my response to her e-mail.

Vista colicked yesterday. Apparently he died last night. And I'm just sitting here at work crying.

He wasn't my horse. My only responsibility was emergency caretaker (before Polonia and I separated). But he had an unmistakable personality. It didn't hurt that before my association with him, he wouldn't have anything to do with human males (we believe he associated them with some kind of mistreatment), and after he got to know me, he certainly tolerated me (I think he associated me with treats).
