Earth Day activities at work this year:

As in previous years, the Unisys Recycling Team has organized a special Earth Day event to focus on environmental issues. This year’s event will be held in the Superior Conference Room from 10:00AM to 1:00PM on Wednesday, April 25th. The event will feature the following activities and more:
Ask questions about the FORD ESCAPE hybrid vehicle and test drive it. Apple Valley Ford will have the vehicle and a sales consultant here between 10:00 and 1:00. It will be located in the west parking lot.
Pick up your free Begonia bedding plant (while the supply lasts)
Learn about carpet recycling and where you can do it free in the Twin Cities.
Ask one of the Master Gardeners your spring time plant questions.
Find out about rain gardens and rain barrels and how they can help conserve water and improve water quality.
Bring in all your old, used tennis shoes and we will ship them off to Nike, courtesy of FedEx, to be made into playground surfaces. You can bring your shoes in anytime, starting now, for the rest of the month. A collection box is located in the exit aisle from the cafeteria.
Drop off your pop can tabs and they will be delivered to the Ronald McDonald house.
Sign up for the free raffle.
Have a complementary treat as a thank you for recycling at work.
Also, we again will be conducting another home electronics collection. There will be a drop-off site set up in the west parking lot, north end, from 7:00AM to 1:00PM. Watch for poster reminders and information on the lobby CBT’s for items accepted and costs. Appliances are not accepted. Do not bring in your electronics before the collection date. In general, this year the prices for recycling will be:
All monitors $5.00
All CPU’s $5.00
All stand alone TV’s (up to 25”) $10.00
TV’s over 25” $20.00
All console TV’s $20.00
Microwaves $10.00
Keyboards, mice, VCR’s, cell phones, stereo receivers, CD players, disc men, printers and scanners FREE

I have this vague recollection that someone on my friends list might have some interest in information about carpet recycling (especially if it's free).

That's not tomorrow, that's later this month.

Although, truth to tell, if you came by tomorrow, you could offload the dead CD player onto some friendly Unisys employee, who would no doubt be willing to take care of disposal on the appointed day.

Disc men?

I just copy and paste the announcements; I neither write nor proof them...

The "carpet person" is me - yes, I definitely am interested in finding out more. I have these enormous sheets of heavy carpet that I must remove from 3601 (unless I sell the place first). Any leads would be most appreciated.

Thank you so much for keeping me in mind!

Oh, but tomorrow is so very not good. When later this month; on Earth Day itself, the 25th? That might be better . . .

Thanks. Sorry I didn't read it correctly the first time.

Mpls...

You can put carpet out on the curb in Mpls, but it hasta be chopped down to a certain sized roll.

My company's Earth Day activities will be at my company's location in Roseville.

I posted it as information, but I'm pretty sure they plan the activities for employees only. But I'm perfectly happy to pick up information or drop off electronics for disposal.
