(no subject)
Jun. 17th, 2002 04:24 pmSpent most of Sunday doing nothing. Originally, in a fit of fiscal virtue, I'd decided that I was not going to go to Barnes & Noble to purchase a Sunday New York Times and a venti Mocha (tm). But I fired up my PC and read my e-mail.
lsanderson had forwarded not one, not two, but three interesting articles from the Times. So much for my fiscal virtue.
Polonia has decided that she wants to go to Oaxaca for Dios de los Muertos with her cousin, Nancy Crawford (Nancy is an artist, lives in San Pedro). So she's trying to make arrangements, with not much success. She was moaning about the cost of airline tickets (somewhere in the neighborhood of $1000), and how she didn't have enough frequent flyer miles to get a ticket. So I offered her my frequent flyer miles - I certainly have enough. I believe she's going to take me up on the offer.
She's planning to finance the trip by doing some part-time work for philanthropic foundation that has an office in Lake Elmo. I don't have much details on the foundation, but apparently they make grants to women who are trying to improve their lives. The grants can't be used to pay bills, but could be used as, for example, seed money for starting a business. Or as college tuition. I think I need to find out more about this foundation. And pass the information along to where it might do some good.
I'm trying to figure out what to do on Friday night. Since I have two Regal Cinema Super Saver tickets that expire soon, and since Attack of the Clones might still be playing at the Regal 16 in Eagan, and since I haven't yet seen Attack of the Clones, seeing Attack of the Clones at the Regal 16 in Eagan on Friday night seems like a possibility. I should probably post something on natter, and see if anyone else has an interest.
